[A pause.]

[He starts to open his mouth, then falls flat.]

No, but... [He sighs.] It just didn't seem like the right time.

I haven't told her who you and Jinora are yet...just that you're from the future. I thought you might want to tell her that yourself.

Yes, now that she knows part of the truth... There's no longer any reason to hide any of it. We'll have to get her used to this as soon as possible. I just have to check with Jinora, but I don't imagine any objections on her end.

Great! I'll give you a couple hours to talk it over with Jinora, and then I'll bring Katara to you.

That's right. [Now his voice is heavy with concern; he had spent all day being warned about the dangers of Haven when he was out and about. Bracing himself for the worst that could happen to him.

[Her voice wavers a little. Even without Kite, Haven's still dangerous, and she doesn't want to see anyone else get hurt.]

I want to make sure that you don't push yourself. Especially if it's in pursuit of an image of yourself that you don't know yet.

[She hesitates. It's certainly something she's been wondering since they ran into each other earlier, but Korra's a little wary of knowing the answer to.]

Well, that is... [He sighs softly. He doesn't know how to put this, and he doesn't want Korra to feel anxious about things she hasn't lived yet. But he still aims to be as truthful as possible.]

We've through a lot, Korra. And we've come a long way since the time you first set foot on Air Temple Island. It's only natural that this would come with... um, some additional closeness.

[Yeah, she'd guessed as much.]

I'm not promising because...of what I think my future self would do. Well, not completely.

You let me stay with you at Air Temple Island when you could have just sent me back to the compound, and you've been looking after me all this time. I don't want to disappoint you...or see you get hurt. I'm pretty sure my future self wouldn't either.

Trust me, Korra. I'm confident that there isn't any version of you who wouldn't feel those very things.
